Terms of Use

Last updated November 4, 2026

These terms of use ("these terms") are the agreement for using Crayon Plants (クレヨンプランツ, its Apple Watch app included, "the app"), a houseplant watering reminder made by Takaki Takemura, an individual developer in Japan ("we"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

The terms of the store you got the app from apply as well: from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (except where these terms say otherwise); from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service.

Licence

As long as you keep to these terms and to your store's, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on devices you own or control. The app's pictures, words and code belong to us or to their rightful owners.

Ads

The free version shows banner ads, limited to ads suitable for all ages. Pro and Plus have no ads.

What you must not do

If we find any of this, we may stop your use of the online features (friends, plants from photos, questions about the leaves, sharing with family).

Changes to the app, and ending it

The app may change as we improve it. If we stop offering the app or its online features, we will say so in the app or on this site at least 30 days before.

No guarantees

We do not guarantee that the app always works without interruption or error, works on every device, always delivers its reminders, that the AI's answers and drawings are right, or that your plants thrive. Data may be lost if your device breaks, is lost or is reset, with updates to the system or the app, or through connection problems.

Limits of our liability

Except where caused by our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the app. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to what you actually paid for the app in the 12 months before the event that caused it. Where the law of your country (such as consumer protection law) does not allow these limits, that law applies.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the law or the app changes. We will post the new terms and the date they take effect on this page and in the app beforehand, and give at least 30 days' notice of any significant change that is worse for you.

Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Unless the law says otherwise, any dispute about these terms or the app goes to the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance with exclusive jurisdiction.
